1969 Super Bowl III NY Jets Replica Full Size Helmet with 24 Signatures

This item comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Super Bowl III was the third AFL-NFL Championship Game in the NFL but the first to officially bear the name "Super Bowl".

This game is regarded as one of the greatest upsets in sports history. The underdog New York Jets (11-3) defeated the Baltimore Colts (13-1) by a score of 16–7. It was the first Super Bowl victory for the AFL.

The game was played on January 12, 1969 (Tradingo.com's CEO & Founder TJ McNamara's Birthday also falls on January 12th and he is a diehard NY Jets fan), at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida.

After boldly guaranteeing a victory prior to the game, Jets quarterback Joe Namath completed 17 out of 28 passes for 206 yards, and was named the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player, despite not throwing a touchdown pass in the game or any passes at all in the fourth quarter.

The helmet is hand signed by 24 members of the 1969 NY Jets team including: Al Atkinson, Bill Baird, Ralph Baker, Randy Beverly, Emerson Boozer, John Elliot, Cornell Gordon, James Grantham, Dave Herman, Winston Hill, Jim Hudson, John Curley Johnson, Pete Lammons, Bill Mathis, Don Maynard, Carl McAdams, Joe Namath, Gerry Philbin, Randy Rasmussen, Paul Rochester, John Schmitt, Matt Snell, Bob Talamani, and Bake Turner.
